Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your driver-guide. A private transfer will take you to your lodge in Arusha where you can relax and recover from your journey. If time permits, you may enjoy a short city tour or simply unwind at the lodge while enjoying views of Mount Meru in the distance. Your safari guide will brief you on the exciting journey ahead.

After an early breakfast, depart Arusha for a scenic drive to Tarangire National Park (approx. 2.5–3 hours). This park is renowned for its massive elephant herds and majestic baobab trees that dominate the landscape. Game drives will reveal diverse wildlife including giraffes, wildebeests, zebras, lions, leopards, and over 400 bird species. The Tarangire River serves as the park’s lifeline, attracting animals year-round. Enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park before continuing with afternoon game drives. As the sun sets, head to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and relaxation.

After breakfast, drive to Lake Manyara National Park (approx. 1.5–2 hours). Nestled at the foot of the Great Rift Valley, this park offers diverse habitats including forests, savannah, and wetlands. Lake Manyara itself shimmers with thousands of flamingos and a variety of other birdlife. During the game drive, look out for elephants, hippos, zebras, and the rare tree-climbing lions, a unique behavior found only in a few places in Africa. After a picnic lunch, you may choose to visit a nearby Maasai village for a cultural experience or take a nature walk before heading to your lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

Today is a highlight of your safari! After an early breakfast, drive to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest unbroken volcanic caldera. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to one of the densest concentrations of wildlife on Earth. During your full-day game drive, you’ll have the chance to spot the legendary Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhino), along with wildebeests, zebras, cheetahs, hyenas, and countless bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the Hippo Pool as you take in panoramic crater views. In the late afternoon, ascend back to the crater rim or return to Karatu for dinner and overnight.

After a relaxed breakfast, begin your drive back to Arusha (approx. 3–4 hours). Along the way, you may stop at local markets for souvenirs or visit a nearby coffee plantation for a guided tour (optional). Upon arrival in Arusha, enjoy lunch before being transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your onward journey.
